Meet your Occupational Therapist

Hi, I’m Candy, the Occupational Therapist behind Color Spectrum OT. I founded this practice with a simple goal: to provide therapy that is practical, personalised, and genuinely helpful in everyday life. My focus is on supporting children, adolescents, and adults to build skills, independence, and confidence, helping them live more meaningful and independent lives.

Who I work with:

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people across a wide range of disabilities and support needs including autism, global developmental delay, intellectual disability, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputees, traumatic brain injuries, degenerative conditions, psycho-social disabilities, and genetic conditions. I’ve supported clients with complex communication, behavioural challenges, sensory needs, severe mobility limitations, and cognitive differences.

My clinical background:

  • Assistive Technology and Wheelchair Prescription – including basic to complex mobility solutions, postural seating, and pressure care for clients with high physical support needs.

  • Paediatric OT – supporting children in early development, fine and gross motor skills, sensory regulation, play, emotional regulation, and social participation.

  • Adolescent and Adult Support – helping individuals build independence in daily life, manage routines, develop cognitive and emotional regulation strategies, and navigate transitions such as leaving school or moving into supported living.

  • Functional Assessments & NDIS Reporting – including FCA, SIL, ILO, and SDA assessments and reports

I’ve a special interest in supporting clients with ASD, and complex seating needs.

Experience and approach:

I’ve had the opportunity to work across community and paediatric clinic in Australia and within specialist seating/wheelchair clinic and hospital settings in the UK.

My approach is person-centred, evidence based, and collaborative. I believe good therapy starts with listening, planning together, and showing up consistently. I take time to understand each person’s routines, goals, and challenges so therapy fits naturally into their everyday life. My practice is guided by clear communication, and a commitment to long-term, trusting relationships.

A little about me:

Outside of work, I love playing volleyball, relaxing at the beach, and exploring Melbourne’s café scene. Staying active and connected helps me bring energy and positivity to my therapy sessions.

If you’re looking for a Melbourne-based occupational therapist who is responsive and committed to helping people live more independently, I’d love to work with you. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat about how I can support you or someone in your care.
